Thank you for your interest in lessons at Wood’s Edge Equestrian Center! We offer lessons in multiple disciplines for riders of all abilities with knowledgeable, safety conscience instructors. We believe in a hands-on approach to learning and encourage our students to be involved in all aspects of horsemanship. In addition to riding, we know that grooming, saddling and caring for the horses all offer unique opportunities for learning and growth as equestrians, but there are also many physical and mental benefits to these activities as well. We encourage independence in a safe environment where individual needs and goals are our primary consideration. ​

General Lesson Information: 

• Basic English, hunter/jumper and dressage lessons are available for riders of all abilities from beginners to advanced, age 5 and older.
• Wood’s Edge also offers the REACH program for riders with special needs. REACH lessons are taught by PATH Intl. certified instructors, click here for more information.
• Lessons are scheduled on a once per week basis, usually on the same day and time each week. If you would like lessons more or less frequently than once a week, individual arrangements can be made.
• Lessons are typically 45-60 minutes, which includes grooming, saddling, and post lesson care of horses.
• Lessons can be taken on Wood’s Edge’s well-trained school horses or on your own horse.
• ASTM/SEI certified helmets are required. Wood’s Edge has approved helmets for student use or you can use your own with approval from instructor.
• Lessons are taught year-round in either our indoor or outdoor arena depending on weather. Wood’s Edge also has wooded trails that may be incorporated into lesson activities.
• Horse ½ leases are available for intermediate or advanced lesson students who can saddle and ride independently.
• Friendly barn community of youth and adult riders and their families.
• Climate controlled lounge area with viewing windows to watch lessons in comfort.
• Wood’s Edge also offers camps, horse shows, clinics and birthday parties throughout the year.
